Privacy Policy

Postd helps small businesses stay visible online. This page explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We have kept it short and clear on purpose.

The short version

You give Postd a few things, like your website address and your social accounts. We use them to prepare posts for you to review, and to publish the ones you approve. We do not sell your information. You can see, change, or delete your information at any time.

The rest of this page explains the details in plain language.

Who this policy covers

This policy explains how Postd.app (“Postd,” “we,” or “us”) handles information when you visit our website or use the Postd service. It applies to the people who sign up for an account and the businesses they manage in Postd.

Information we collect

We collect only what we need to run Postd for you:

  • Account details. Your name, email address, and password when you sign up.
  • Your business and brand. Your website address, business name, the details in your Brand Guide such as your voice, services, audience, location, colors, and fonts, and your posting preferences.
  • Your content and media. The posts, captions, photos, graphics, and videos you create, upload, or approve in Postd.
  • Connected accounts. When you connect a social account, we store the permission needed to publish on your behalf. We never see your social passwords.
  • Billing details. Your plan and payment status. Card payments are handled by our payment provider, so we never see or store full card numbers.
  • Basic usage and device information. Standard logs such as your browser type and the actions you take in the app, which help us keep Postd secure and working.

How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • Set up your Brand Guide and prepare a fresh set of posts for you to review.
  • Publish the posts you approve to the accounts you connect.
  • Show you a calendar, analytics, and your media library.
  • Send service messages like your weekly review, password resets, and billing notices.
  • Keep Postd secure, fix problems, and improve how it works.

Nothing publishes until you approve it. We do not use your private business information to train public models, and we do not sell it.

Reading your website

When you add your website, Postd reads the public pages of that site to learn your brand and prepare your first posts. We read only what is publicly visible, the same way a visitor would. We use a trusted service provider to do this on our behalf.

Connected social accounts

When you connect a social account, you give Postd permission to publish the posts you approve. We store only the access we need for that, and we use it only for actions you take in Postd. You can disconnect an account at any time from the Connections page, which removes our access going forward. Each platform also has its own privacy practices, which apply when your posts appear there.

Postd connects to platforms including Meta (Facebook and Instagram), Pinterest, LinkedIn, and Google through their official tools. We ask only for the permissions needed to publish what you approve and to show you basic results. Our use of information received from these platforms follows each platform’s requirements, including the Google API Services User Data Policy and its Limited Use requirements, the Meta Platform Terms, and the LinkedIn and Pinterest developer policies. We do not use this information for advertising, and we do not sell it.

Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that help us run Postd, and only as much as they need to do their job:

  • Hosting, database, and storage. Stores your account, content, and files and keeps you signed in securely.
  • Payments. Processes your subscription. They handle card details so we do not have to.
  • Publishing. Delivers your approved posts to the social accounts you connect.
  • Email delivery. Sends your service emails, like the weekly review and password resets.
  • Website reading. Reads your public website when you add it.
  • Content preparation. Trusted providers help turn your brand details into draft posts for you to review.

We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect Postd, our customers, and the public. If Postd is ever involved in a merger or sale, we will make sure your information stays protected under terms at least as careful as these.

We are happy to share the current list of named service providers on request. Email info@postd.app.

Cookies

Postd uses a small number of cookies that are needed to keep you signed in and keep the service secure. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. You can read more on our Cookie Policy.

How long we keep your information

We keep your information for as long as you have an account, so Postd works the way you expect. When you delete your account, we remove your content and files and close your workspace. Some records, like billing history, may be kept for a limited time where the law requires it. Routine backups are cleared on a rolling schedule.

Your choices and rights

You are in control of your information. You can:

  • See and update your account and Brand Guide details from inside Postd.
  • Disconnect any social account at any time.
  • Ask for a copy of your information.
  • Ask us to correct or delete your information.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws like GDPR or CCPA, including the right to object to certain uses. We honor these rights for everyone. To make a request, email info@postd.app. We will never charge you or treat you differently for exercising them.

Deleting your data

You can delete your account and its data yourself from Settings, or ask us to do it for you. Full instructions are on our Data Deletion page.

How we protect your information

We protect your information with encryption in transit, access controls, and trusted infrastructure providers. No service can promise perfect security, but we work hard to keep your information safe and to fix problems quickly if they come up.

Children's privacy

Postd is built for businesses and is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Postd grows. If we make a meaningful change, we will update the date at the top and, where appropriate, let you know in the app or by email. Using Postd after a change means you accept the updated policy.
